Omoniyi Temidayo “Zlatan Ibile” was born and raised in Lagos state. He originally hails from Osun state, a South-Western part of Nigeria.

As a young lad, he didn’t set his sights on a career in music and focused on his education.

During an interview with Goldmyne TV, Zlatan Ibile admitted he never thought of doing music until he started walking his friends to the studio when he had nothing to do at home. He stated;

“I started music when I finished SSCE in 2011. While waiting for admission, I started following my friends to the studio and I got influenced. But I was a church boy, I played drums and I had a knowledge of music.

At the point when my companions said they needed me to be a piece of a tune, I concurred. It was a rap melody and individuals cherished my part.”

Omoniyi Temidayo “Zlatan Ibile” attended and graduated from Mashood Abiola Polytechnic with a degree in Business Administration.

Zlatan’s career has been a good one and he has been enjoying a fine run of form since his breakthrough track.

According to him, he never thought that he would take music as a career, and it all started in Church where he plays the drumset.

Zlatan Ibile fully started his music career as a rapper while in the tertiary institution at the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic.

He would go on to win a rap competition organized by Airtel ‘One Mic Campus Tour’ in the institution.

This win put him in the spotlight, and that was as far back as 2014, he was only 19-years-old then.

Speaking after receiving the gift, the young Zlatan said;

“I am overwhelmed with joy today for emerging winner of Airtel One Mic project. I thank Airtel Nigeria for this initiative. It is an encouragement to me that I can rise to the peak of my music career. I am very grateful to Airtel.”

That is just what would happen, he rose to the peak of his music career.

Zlatan Ibile rose to prominence with his song ‘My Body’ featuring Olamide. The song went viral after a video of Davido dancing to it surfaced on Instagram.

He went on to become a household name in the country after the release of his hit single Zanku “Leg Work” which was accompanied with a dance moves.

He had since become one of the most talked about in the music industry and also accompanied with some controversies.

The singer helped the young internet sensation, Segun Wire, but had to withdraw his support for him after hoodlums related to Segun Wire’s family attacked him because they are of the opinion that he was using Segun Wire to make money for himself alone and not caring about the little boy’s welfare.

The controversy started when Zlatan Ibile took charge of the internet sensation named Segun Wire with the pure intention to help him grow but things took the wrong turn and he had to forget about the pursuit. Zlatan Ibile saw raw talent in the young kid and decided to breed him into maturity, but his family members were not in full support of it. Zlatan explained it all in an interview with Punch NG, he said;

“I don’t have much to say about the issue again because I have done what I needed to do. I have withdrawn my support.  I just wanted to help him, but my image was tarnished. I withdrew because I just felt it is high time I lived my own life. I am still a young boy; I have younger ones and parents too that need help. I have yet to get to where I want to be; so, I just want to focus on myself for now.”
