It is no secret that the Big Brother Naija Season 5 has kicked off already and barely some days into the show, talks of possible winners and favourites have kept social media platforms buzzing. Viewers have already started choosing sides and “stanning” housemates; a tradition that has been on from time immemorial.
Among one of the many names that has been trending is Laycon, a housemate who has found a way to register his name on the lips and fingertips of most people, including his detractors. This post talks about the biography of Laycon, a housemate of the Big Brother Naija Season 5 edition.
Laycon BBNaija Biography
Laycon (born Olamilekan Agbeleshe, 1994) is a singer, rapper, and a Big Brother Naija (BBN) Season 5 housemate from Lagos State. Laycon is a graduate of Philosophy at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and ventured into music at a very tender age. He is claimed to be the best graduating student of his time at the University of Lagos.
Laycon, prior to being a Big Brother Naija (BBN) season 5 housemate had been plying his music craft and had featured Chinko Ekun and popular indigenous rapper, Reminisce in his single titled “Fierce”, which is available online. Laycon has other songs which include “hip-hop”, “motivation” and “who is Laycon?”, an EP.
Laycon: The Best Graduating UNILAG arts 2016?
Since Laycon’s popularity soared, there have been reports in certain corners claiming the young rapper and BBN housemate was UNILAG’s 2016 best graduating student, a claim that has further sparked and soared the profile of the BBN season 5 housemate. It, however, remains to be seen whether or not it is true.
Trolling & Profiling
Laycon was trolled the moment cameras focused on him. Unsavoury names such as “Yahoo! boy”, “hooligan”, “tout”, “riff-raff”, and was even referred to as ugly the moment he was revealed as a housemate of the show. Interestingly, the revelation about his education has changed most people’s perception of him.
So that Laycon guy that almost everyone hav called different kinds of names like “tout, riffraff, hooligan, Agbero” is the best graduating students of his time with GPA better than most of his fellow #BBNaija Housemates?
Nawa oo!!! This life no balance true true.

Laycon: The Next Efe Ejeba?
Laycon seems positioned to be the next Efe Ejeba, a rapper, and winner of the Big Brother 2017, Double Wahala edition who rode on his ‘grass-to-grace’ story and ‘based on logistics’ mantra. Coincidentally, both are rappers even though Laycon obviously has more talent and flair for the craft.
Unlike Laycon, Efe’s journey into winning the heart of people was slow. Laycon, on the other hand, has enjoyed intimidating cult support barely 3 days into the competition, with popular celebrities volunteering and promising their social media platforms will be dedicated to the campaign of the promising rapper till the end of the show.
