Adedeji Adeleke (born March 6, 1957) is a Nigerian billionaire, business magnate, founder, and president of Adeleke University. He is also the CEO of Pacific Holdings Limited. He is the father of Davido and Sharon Adeleke. He was married to Dr. Vero Adeleke who died on 3 March 2003.
The Adelekes are a popular and influential family in Osun State for many reasons; the presence of the Adeleke University in the state, the Davido factor, and brothers of Deji Adeleke who have ventured into politics in the state at some point in time. Adedeji Adeleke was the younger brother to a two-time senator and former governor of Osun State, Isiaka Adeleke who passed on on April 23, 2017, in Osogbo.
Davido, in a couple of his songs, have bragged about his father’s wealth. As a matter of fact, his first hit song ‘Dami Duro’ had a refrain that talked about his identity (‘Omo Baba Olowo’ meaning ‘the son of a wealthy man’). He would go on to adopt the line as one of his nicknames ‘O.B.O’. The question, however, remains: ‘how wealthy is Adedeji Adeleke?’ In July 2015, Davido earned a music degree from Babcock after his father paid the university to start a music department for an inaugural class of one!
